Simon Grant – The Mind Reader

  Stand-up performance or Close-up performance?

Simon Grant's Stand-up Mind Reading act is a 60 minute performance in which Simon demonstrates how it is possible to create the illusion of psychic ability by employing psychological techniques and principles.

The act begins with Simon accurately predicting numbers and images which audience members concentrate upon. After this he starts to read deeper thoughts from people – from detailed memories to PIN numbers.

From this point, the precise details of the performance are kept secret. Needless to say, the techniques which Simon explored in the first fifteen minutes are stretched to their extremes. Weaving intuition and deception Simon Grant's Stand-up Mind Reading performance will stay with you long after the evening's over.

The Close-up Mind Reading demonstration consists of Simon mixing with your guests and performing to them in small groups. This style of performance is ideally suited towards weddings, private parties, pubs and corporate functions.

When approaching a group, Simon will often begin by placing a £50 wager on his ability to correctly guess a freely chosen shape that a group member concentrates upon. Then Simon would extend this principal by guessing a word, again chosen at random by a spectator. Simon then might give a demonstration of automatic writing or cause a volunteer to experience a visual hallucination.

The demonstration concludes with Simon teaching some of these techniques to an audience member and letting them provide the finale – thus providing an experience never to be forgotten for all involved

Technical requirements for the Stand-up Mind Reading act are minimal. Ideally, the venue will have a (preferably) raised stage area with seating directly facing the stage. Additionally, the venue needs to provide 2 chairs and 1 table for use during the performance.

There are no technical requirements for the Close-up Mind Reading act, although Simon is unable to perform if there is loud music being played.
